Examination and Thesis Guide
Semester examinations
Examinations may include quizzes, practical assessments, mid-semester and final-semester examinations, oral or comprehensive examinations, and final program examinations. Students are eligible for a semester examination when they are registered for the course, have attended at least 75% of course activities, and have completed at least four academic-advising sessions. Thesis eligibility and examinations
Before commencing the thesis
The final research pathway comprises a two-credit Thesis Proposal, a six-credit Thesis, and a two-credit Scientific Publication. Before commencing the thesis, students must be active, complete Semesters 1 and 2, earn at least B in Biostatistics, Qualitative Research, Quantitative Research, and Thesis Proposal, complete at least 32 credits, and have no CD, D, or E grades.
Proposal and thesis examinations
A proposal examination requires supervisor approval and at least eight supervision sessions. It is open, lasts up to 60 minutes, and normally includes a 15-minute presentation and 45 minutes of discussion. The closed thesis examination lasts 60 minutes and requires, among other academic and administrative conditions, a minimum GPA of 3.25, no grade below B, a TOEFL score of at least 465, at least 12 supervision sessions, submission of an article to an accredited nursing or health journal, and a similarity score below 20%. Data collection may begin only after ethical approval.
Final grade and completion
The final thesis grade comprises 40% from the proposal examination and 60% from the thesis examination. Students are expected to complete the thesis within two semesters.
